Classes currently offered at Spokane Youth Yoga for kids & families are:

Yoga for Children with Learning and Developmental Disabilities

A yoga program developed specifically to meet the individual needs of your child.

Through breath work, mantra and movement we learn to breathe more deeply, calm the mind and relax the body. Our work in yoga helps to prepare us for other day to day challenges that arise. Amy is a licensed practitioner of "Yoga for the Special Child." For more information or to set up an initial consultation, call 220-7419.

 

Me & Mom

A yoga experience for little ones, ages 2-3 years old, and their caregiver.

In this class, children and their caregivers have the opportunity to explore yoga through singing, fun and laughter. Thirty minutes of busy yoga for busy little bodies!
*Registration required through Center Place, Spokane Valley Parks and Recreation.

Lions and Tiger and Bears, Oh My!

Preschool yoga for 3-4 year olds

In this class, we rely heavily on our imaginations as we become animals of the forest—lions, and tigers and bears! We sing songs, read stories, do crafts and more. This class supports language development, large motor development, and social and emotional development.

Let’s Play Yoga

Yoga fun for 5-8 year olds

In this class, we explore yoga through traditional yoga poses and child inspired yoga poses. The natural energy, enthusiasm and curiosity of this age group makes our time together very full and lots of fun.

Youth Yoga

9-12 year olds

In this class, children have the opportunity to learn about different aspects of yoga through journaling, cooperative games, relaxation and more. Young people at this age guide each other and direct themselves toward more meaningful and challenging work in yoga. The energy of the group inspires mindful relaxation and energetic yoga, a wonderful balance.

Teen One

Our introductory Teen class, ages 13 and up

In this class, we work on traditional yoga poses. Each week, we choose one or two more challenging poses and work until we see improvement and feel empowered. We learn yoga sequences, which incorporate standing poses, sitting poses, balancing poses and inverted poses. We share our thoughts and feelings about how yoga affects our lives and about how it can bring balance and harmony to our daily routines.

Teen Two/Beginning Adults

For experienced teens and those beyond 18 years of age!

This class is for anyone wanting to explore the benefits of doing yoga. We'll carefully challenge ourselves and begin to learn more about linking movement to breath, the art of yoga.

 

Family Yoga

For the entire family!

We meet once/month and dabble in yoga that the entire family can do at home together. Fun, laughter and time to bond. (Ages 2-5 with adult and 6-10 with adult).

Yoga Birthday Parties

You provide the cake, we'll provide the yoga, a craft and games! Ages 5 and up.

Summer Camp

An opportunity for your child to experience many aspects of yoga over the course of a week. During our time together, we'll concoct some delicious and healthy snacks, play outdoor yoga games, practice relaxation, sing songs, make art and do lots of yoga!
